Katie is a charming, little, eight-year old, 12.5 pound Havanese who loves people, is easygoing and readily fits into her foster family. One of her favorite things is to sit on the top of the sofa to keep an eye on the world through the window. Katie loves going on walks and being close to her humans.
She is a bit anxious in the car but snaps right back to her normal self once you've reached your destination. Katie will always greet you with a wagging tail and lots of kisses.
Katie has food and environmental allergies which affect her skin. She also has Dry Eye. HRI is working with her doctors to find out how to make her more comfortable. Happily, she has improved since coming to her foster home. She will need medication for the rest of her life and bi-weekly baths with a medicated shampoo and a special diet available at most Premium pet food stores. Her sweet nature makes everything worth it.
Katie does chase cats, but she doesn't hurt them. A cat-free home would be preferable. Katie is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained, pretty much the whole package!
