MaggiePASmFaceMaggie is an almost two-year-old sweetie pie who was cherished and loved in her first home. When her adoring mom passed away, after a long illness, in late September, her dad gave Maggie the greatest gift when he realized she wasn't getting the attention she so desperately needed, and he surrendered her to HRI.

Maggie1PAMaggie's pretty white coat had it's share of mats and after a valiant attempt to remove them, the groomer agreed that a shave was in order....all the better for this little girl to wear the latest in Havanese cold weather fashion! But, her pretty grey-tipped ears remain along with her beautiful curled Havie tail.

Ever hear of the expression, “Early to bed, early to rise:” That’s our girl Maggie, she is in bed by 9:00 pm and up at around 6:00am or so.

  • Maggie is ALL puppy and while charming and lovable, she needs some basic training.
  • She is a chewer, so long-term training and vigilance to help her curb this habit are essential – anything on the floor is considered a play toy by Maggie.
  • Maggie loves kids and sleeps with the boys in her foster home. School-age kids are her perfect playmates.
  • Another pup in the home to keep her engaged will be a big plus!
  • She enjoys walks but requires just a bit of leash work.
  • When confined to specific rooms, she is house-trained.
  • Maggie is a people person and loves men!
  • Miss M has “requested” a home where she would not typically be left alone for more than three hours a day. She needs her face-time!

We know this is a long list of requirements but she is one wonderful, loving and beautiful Havanese. As with all of our rescues, we want only the best for our divine Miss M.maggie 1
