MateoMateo enjoys kids but does jump up at times and sometimes knocks small children over. He also likes men, women and teenagers. He enjoys playing with other dogs and would enjoy canine company from a playful dog in his forever home. He hasn’t been exposed to cats in while in foster care.

Mateo is working on house training. He’s generally quite good, but doesn’t like going outside for potty breaks when it’s been raining hard. He’s more accepting of concrete or a rocky area when it’s rainy and sometimes has accidents in the house then also.

Mateo needs more work to improve his leash manners. He loves walks but pulls a lot on the leash. His foster family is working on this and he now walks with a chest latch harness which is helping. He will need to continue working on his leash manners after he’s adopted. Mateo gets especially excited when he sees another dog when he’s on leash and wants to run up to them to greet them. It can be difficult to control him at these times as he’s quite strong.

Mateo loves following his humans around the house. He wants to be everybody’s friend and loves being in the middle of the action, whatever it is. He loves cuddling on the sofa or bed with his human.

Mateo would love a family with another dog to play with and give him canine company. He’d love a backyard so he can run and play. He’d love someone who wants to train him with praise and treats and consistency. He’ll reward you with love and adoration.

Mateo is being fostered in TX.
