Desi came to rescue with a congenital deformity of his front paw. Because of the extent of structural problems, he rarely used that leg. It was significantly atrophied.

Desi and his foster mom first met with a veterinary rehab specialist. He began some exercises to increase his range of motion. Soon he was using his leg more which increased his muscle tone. Consultations with specialists from Madison Veterinary School and a veterinary chiropractor were added to Desi's care as well.

In just a few months, Desi made amazing gains! He uses his leg frequently now to walk, run and even to "dig a nest" in the cushion of the couch before he lays down to nap.
Desi is now adopted and lives with his mom who adores him and a Havanese "brother," but will always have a place in the heart of his foster mom.
