Missy, age 3, is seeing a whole new world since coming to HRI, when she had surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes. The surgery was wonderfully successful and Missy is now able to see!
She has become a very playful, affectionate young lady, at a mere 14 lbs. She loves toys and running, going for long walks, and would love the chance to chase squirels...
Missy seems to be making up for lost time in her early life! At the end of th day this "love sponge" wants nothing more than a lap to sit on and a hand petting her silky, soft hair.
She would do best with an adult or a home with older children who are careful around her head. Continued work on basic commands is a must, in case she should ever go blind again. And she will need continued re-checks on her eyes. Drops will only need to be administered on an "as needed" basis.
