EMME WI HEADSHOTSweet Emme is at the Rainbow Bridge. She passed away today (April 7, 2020) from liver failure. She was loved and adored by her family. Rest in peace, Emme.

Three-year-old Emme is a darling 12 1/2 pound Havanese who would specialneedsiconhappily snuggle next to you all day long as her full time job! She's willing to share her foster mom's lap and attention with her foster siblings, however. She loves attention and wags her tail vigorously whenever you say her name or talk to her.

EMME WIEmme is very laid back and gets along with everyone she meets.  She has no desire to be the leader of the pack, but she gets excited when the other dogs are involved in games of fetch and she runs with them and tries to help carry the toys with her foster brother, Nicky.

Emme is house trained and walks well on a leash.  She goes into her crate when cued when the dogs are home alone for an hour or two.  She is okay with grooming and even a bath.  She has good manners overall, though she's working on not jumping on people when she greets them.  Emme loves sleeping in the bed at night, with all four feet in the air (and it makes her foster mom laugh every time).

Emme was much loved by her family the first three years of her life EMME WI LICKINGbefore she came to HRI.  Emme has health problems which we're exploring with a specialist at this time.  She's on a prescription diet for her liver and takes medication.  She'll be starting supplements for liver support.  Emme is a delightful little dog.  We're hoping medical intervention will give her the opportunity for a healthier life.
