The 2006 Quilt, affectionately called "The Doo-Dad Quilt" is pictured below. This quilt project brought out each quilter's imagination with fabrics and embellisments that are normally off limits. Embellishments of all sorts were used including buttons, ribbons, charms, and even a small wooden window frame. This was the first quilt created to be a wall hanging.
Beautifully created by Dottie Sartin, the center medallion of the 2006 quilt depicts the logo of the original Havanese Rescue Group. Cyndi Rust pieced the top of this quilt as well as creating the flying geese border surrounding the center medallion. The same pattern is repeated once more on the top and bottom of the quilt. A color theme was introduced in the 2005 quilt. Our participants included representatives from each of the local Havanese clubs. Funds from this quilt benefitted Havanese Rescue Inc, the Havanese Club of America Placement and Rescue Services and Canadian Fanciers Havanese Rescue.
