Winston has a few things to say for himself:

I am a sweet little gentleman that wants you to be the center of my universe. I love being around my person all day. I will take you for long walks, sit beside you on the couch, lie in your lap, take naps with you, keep your feet warm at night, and spend my days admiring you. I also enjoy sitting outside, surveying my kingdom...as long as you are there with me! I am terrified during storms so I prefer to be near you to feel safe. I am well-behaved and always up for an adventure with you, whether it be a simple ride to the post office (Yeah, car rides!), an afternoon at the dog park, or a picnic at the lake. As long as we are together, my life is complete.

I'm not fond of brushes or combs. My foster mom has worked with me on this extensively, but I usually win. I like my puppy cut and think it suits me just fine.

I do really well with children over the age of 12. If I can meet small children with you by my side and I can be introduced slowly, I do well because I know I can trust you. I would prefer not to live with little children full time, but an occasional visit is just fine. I won't hurt them, but I avoid them because their unpredictability scares me.

I don't play much with toys. Squeaking toys scare me, but I will smack around a stuffed animal or two if they get out of hand. I prefer to chase my tail or squirrels. My tail is easier to catch so I usually stick to that.

I used to be really tense, just a big knot of nerves; I was scared all the time. My foster mom took me to the doctor and he gave me some medication. Since I started the medication, I'm no longer tense. I'm learning that people are good, life is meant to be enjoyed, and it's great to lie down, let out a big sigh, and let go of my worries. I'm still nervous about thunderstorms, fireworks, and gunshots, but that's true of a lot of my canine friends!Winston outside 1

I am a gooooooood dog. My foster mom tells me this all the time and I'm starting to believe she's telling the truth. I really want a home with people around all day. I have so much love to give, it takes 24 hours to get it all out each day! If you have to leave me home alone every once in a while (so you can go buy dog food and treats and such), I understand and I'll be good, but please come back soon. I really miss you. I promise from the bottom of my paws I will be an honorable member of the family.

I would REALLY like a person that lets me know I'm as special to them as they are to me. I take my devotion seriously.

Winston's wishlist includes:

  • Someone home most of the day.
  • People who will take him with them when allowed.
  • Another dog or cat. (It's not really necessary, but he does like to play with them at his foster home).
  • A welcome lap, warm heart, and soft hands.

Winston is being fostered in WI.
