  • About Havanese

Boo3Boo is one beautiful boy. His coloring is a deep grey, almost blue, and his legs are a rich sable. He has the typical Havanese teacup tail that seldom stops wagging. He weighs 12.2 pounds and his age is estimated at five. He is in great health and is recuperating from a recent neuter. He is fully vetted and in wonderful overall health.

The Boo Man, as he is often called, loves everyone, especially the resident teenager, so a home with teens is desired. Unlike many of our Havs who follow around their special person, this guy likes to work the crowd. While he spends time during the day with his foster mom and her dogs, he gets along with them wonderfully; when the daughter arrives home after school, Boo insists on helping her with her homework on her bed, providing snuggles of encouragement.

Boo knows some basic commands and aims to please. He loves his new kibble and homemade food as well as treats, of course! He enjoys sleeping in bed at his foster home, but was trained to sleep in the kitchen before he came to us.

If you love to walk, Boo is your man. A brisk half-mile jaunt in a hilly neighborhood barely slows this boy down, and, if you need an exercise partner, he is ready, willing and able. We were told that Boo does not care for loud noises, so a somewhat laid back home and an understanding that he may shy away from the screeching sounds of the automatic garage door opener or noisy trucks or fireworks is necessary.

Boo has not been crate-trained but stays happily in the gated kitchen with the resident Havs and has not had a single accident. He enjoys riding in the car and sits patiently while he is securely belted-in. We are working on getting Boo used to regular grooming and encourage him with lots of treats.

Like the literary Boo Radley, our Boo slowly reveals himself as well, and he is a true gem. His willingness to spend time with everyone in the household is unique and charming and novel, and the lucky family who adopts him will agree that there is much more to this Havanese “book” than his beautiful “cover."

Boo is being fostered in South-Central PA.

A donation will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended donation amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any.  A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
